Loren Johnson was a human being. A soul made manifest by the same God as you and I. She deserved an opportunity at life. She deserved a chance to be what she wanted to be. To live the life she wanted to live.

But now that's all over.

An assassin's bullet cut down her young life at 16...16 years OLD...and it's OVER!

Three other children have been cut down since November 2008 (that's 4 in 5 months for those of you counting)...

If you are sick and tired of these stories...leave a comment and send your prayers to the Johnson Family.

I can only imagine the unbearable, heartwrenching pain that they are going through.

Nashville, this is the time to stand as a family!

Mrs. Johnson my heart goes out to you. May God comfort you and your family. I just can't imagine, but I know it has come to pass. Whoever done such a tragic thing will have to pay. God will have the last say so. God bless.

I know it may sound extreme to some, but Trecey, I agree with you. Nobody is scared of the system anymore. Murderers get out so easy now. My cousin was killed 10 years ago, and people know who did it, but they are not telling the police, so it has went unsolved. I think its a catch-22 for law abiding citizens. The criminals commit crimes against us and we pay for the loss of whatever they did or took, then they go to jail and our tax dollars still pay again for whatever they did or took. I wonder if people realize that in some countries in Europe, the police don't even have guns. The crime rate is so low because they have deterrents that they enforce that people are actually afraid of. The United States needs to understand...people stop being afraid of slap on the wrists at 5 years old. Come with some new punishments...

Will someone please report the person (or persons) who are responsible for this crime? No parent should have to go through the pain of loosing a child. If the perpetrators knew that someone would defiantly turn them in, they would probably be less likely to commit a crime. They are comfortable doing a crime because they know the likely-hood of them being caught is low, very low and in most cases if they are caught the punishment will not be severe. Let go back to the days when we knew (without a doubt) that someone was guilty of committing a crime he/she was put to death (kill him in the same manner that he was killed). No it will not bring back the person but at least we would have one less person in the world causing hurt and harm to anyone else. With the United States supposedly being so far advanced than most countries, we don't have the proper deterrents in place to keep people from thinking or doing what they want to others. I'm not saying an eye for an eye to inflict pain on them or their family; I'm saying an eye for an eye to remove them from the equation. If you extinguish them then you will never have to pay to house them, provide health care or feed them. Snap! The perp is gone, just like the life he/she took away.

Ms. Johnson, I feel your pain. I went through the same thing 15 years ago when my only son was killed. There are no words to really say that could console you. I know that if it wasn't for my faith, I would have gone crazy. They still don't have the person who shot him in the back. My heart aches for you and your family during this time. It was so senseless and I can't imagine the person/persons can act like this didn't happen. My prayers are with you, and I hope that something pricks the hearts of these young men to take responsibility for their actions.

Personally, I think if the law would quit treating these teenagers like kids and hold them accountable for their adult actions like an adult, then the crime rate would drop dramaticatically. I knew at 6,7,and 8 years old that shooting and robbing and killing was wrong. So these teenagers that are 16, 17 and 18 definitely know. Throw their behinds in pin with the real adults, since they want to do grown things.

This is so sad. I saw her picture on the news last night. She was a beautiful young girl, with her whole life ahead of her. Because of selfishness and foolishness she will never get the chance to be what she could have been. It is time for Nashville to rally together and find a way to stop innocent lives from being taking, not only by the bullet....but by our young men and women joining gangs.
