7 year old: Sole survivor of plane crash in Kentucky

Sailor Gutzler’s family twin engine plane crashed on Friday, killing her mother, father, sister and cousin. Sailor was able to escape from the wreckage, light a stick from fire on the wing and walked almost a mile to find help. She was bloodied, had broken bones, had one sock on and was not dressed for the below 40 weather.

The family was returning to Nashville, Illinios from a Christmas trip to Florida. Marty Gutzler, Sailor’s father, was the pilot. There was inclement weather and a distress call was sent out around 5:55pm. Mr. Gutzler was a well experienced pilot having about 4000 hours of flight logged and was a flight instructor.
