The man wanted in connection with the hit-and-run car crash that killed a four-year-old girl and injured 14 on Wednesday at an Orlando day care center, surrendered on Thursday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.
An ex-convict, 28-year-old Robert Corchado, surrendered at the Orange County, Florida jail at approximately 4:15 p.m. Thursday. His bond was set at $100,000 after he was booked for leaving the scene of a fatal accident.
Corchado allegedly forced another car off the road Wednesday afternoon and it crashed into the Goldenrod Road KinderCare Learning Center. Lily Quintus died from her injuries while 11 other children and three adults were also injured in the crash.
This isn't the first time Corchado has been involved in a hit-and-run. At the time of this incident, he was out on bail for a similar stunt and drug charges from December. He also served three years for cocaine trafficking and was released in 2012.
