Kendrick Lamar wasn't happy about they way GQ portrayed him in his big interview, so he didn't show up to the the mag's Men of the Year party.
Kendrick decided to skip out on Tuesday's festivities because he wasn't happy with the picture writer Steve Marsh painted of him in the December issue of GQ where the Compton rapper was named Rapper of the Year.
The interview released last week focused on the fact Kendrick didn't drink excessively and womanize like other rappers and the violence endemic in Kendrick's hometown of Compton. The TDE front man thought the article should have been a celebration of his successes.
The CEO of Kendrick's label Top Dawg Entertainment Anthony Tiffith tells TMZ, "To say he was 'surprised at our discipline' is completely disrespectful ... Kendrick deserved to be accurately documented."
