This November marks two decades since the release of Enter the Wu-Tang (36 Chambers) -- the ground-breaking 1993 Wu-Tang Clan album that created the blueprint for hardcore hip-hop and helped bring New York rap to the forefront.
Any true hip-hop fan would say that Wu-Tang changed the game. When asked about the secret to the Wu's longevity, U-God, one of the original founding members of the crew, shared that it's not about what they've done in the past, it's about what they're doing now and in the future.
U-God told us in a recent interview, "Maybe later on they might give us a Lifetime Achievement Award. That's when you look back. Some people get caught on what they did. There's always more to accomplish."
There is no release date set in stone, but U-God says that the 20th anniversary album is on its way. "[We're taking our] time with it. If it takes us to the middle of summer, we'll do what we have to do -- we already have our fan base."
In the meantime, check out U-God's latest solo project, Key Note Speaker, released this past July.
