It was bound to happen. A German hacking group claimed they've hacked the new iPhone fingerprint scanner lock on Sunday, a mere two days after Apple introduced the feature they are promoting as a better way to keep crooks and snoops out of your phone.
Although the claim his yet to be verified, a group known as the Chaos Computing Club, or CCC, say they've hacked the new technology.
A hacker who identified himself as Starbug wrote on the CCC's website, "Fingerprints should not be used to secure anything. You leave them everywhere, and it is far too easy to make fake fingers out of lifted prints."
The group said that were able to hack the iPhone's Touch ID by taking a photo of an iPhone user's fingerprint, transferring it to a transparent sheet and then using that to create a mold for a "fake finger."
