Jermaine Dupri says a shady Atlanta bank is to blame for his financial woes.
According to TMZ, the So So Def founder has filed a countersuit against Sun Trust Bank, claiming it caused him to default on a $5 million loan. As JD tells it, he was initially making payments, but then a bank official convinced him to change the terms of the loan. Dupri claims the officer told him it would be for the producer's benefit, but actually drove him deeper into debt.
Jermaine says the banker took advantage of his lack of education -- he didn't finish high school -- and suckered him in a plot for the bank to get a hold of his music catalog, which he says is worth up to $20 million.
