Big People Rejoice!!!! Twinkies are Back!!!!!!

It’s a real sugar rush.

Twinkie fans desperate for a fix will be able to get the sponge cake-and-cream treats as much as three days earlier than expected — if they head to Wal-Mart.

The world’s largest retailer said the sponge cake-and-cream treats would be available in some Wal-Mart locations as early as Friday and in about 3,000 of its 4,000 stores by Sunday.

The iconic yellow confections are scheduled to re-debut in stores nationwide on Monday.

Twinkies disappeared from store shelves after a bankruptcy court demanded Hostess Brands start liquidating last November following a breakdown in negotiations with its unions. The company shuttered its factories and fired nearly all of its 18,500 workers.

Snackers raided store shelves, piling shopping baskets full of Twinkies and other Hostess sweets like Ding Dongs and Ho Hos. Some took to the Internet, hawking $5 boxes of 10 Twinkies for hundreds and even thousands of dollars -each.

Hostess filed for bankruptcy in 2012 for a second time as years of management missteps burdened the company with debt despite $2 billion in annual sales.

Private equity firms Metropoulos & Co. and Apollo Global Management snapped up the decades-old Twinkies brand — along with sweet treats like Sno Balls and Zingers — for $410 million.

While they won’t last forever, the new Twinkies will have a longer shelf life of about six weeks, up from 26 days for the version that was available until shortly before the factory shutdown.
