BOBBY BROWN: Sues National Enquirer Over Report He Was to Re-Marry Whitney

Bobby Brown and his current wife have filed suit against the National Enquirer over a March 2012 article stating he'd planned to re-marry Whitney Houston.

The source of the quote is Derrick Handspike, whom the supermarket tabloid claimed was a close friend of Brown's -- and was working on a book about him. Now Bobby and his current wife Alicia Etheredge  have filed suit against both the Enquirer and Handspike.

Here's the quote in contention: "Bobby told me, ‘Whitney and me are getting married again.' ... They were planning a small wedding, probably in Las Vegas with just the two of them and their daughter Krissi. ... Bobby told me, ‘The world may have thought we were history, but the reality is we were never really apart. We’ve never stopped loving each other.'"

Houston had died a month earlier. Brown and Etheredge were married last June, four months after Whitney's death.
