Chicago Bulls Snap Miami Heat’s 27 Game Win Streak

The world champions Miami Heat stumbled in a hard-fought loss against the hardscrabble Chicago Bulls in Chicago Wednesday night. The Bulls, led by Luol Deng’s 26 points, shredded the Miami Heat’s defense to snap the Heat’s win streak at 27 games. The Heat, who hold the record for the 2nd longest winning streak in NBA history, last lost a game in Indiana on February 1st.

“It really doesn’t matter. I’m glad it’s over,” said Heat star guard Dwyane Wade, referring to the win streak.

Miami hasn’t practiced together as a team since early February when coach Erik Spoelstra announced his players would forego team practice if they continued winning. Apparently that was all the motivation that LeBron James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh needed to lead their team on a 27-game tear, defeating every team in the league at least once over the last 2 months.

LeBron and his Heat defeated their stronger competition handily, but they struggled to overcome double-digit deficits against sub .500 and lowly teams such as the Bulls, Cleveland Cavaliers and the Boston Celtics.

The Miami Heat will play Chicago again on April 14 in Miami. The Bulls lead their regular season series 2 games to 1.
