Florida Woman Takes Couponing To The Extreme In Walmart

A Walmart shopper took extreme couponing to a new level of crazy when she allegedly whipped out her handgun at a Florida store in a fight over a piddling discount, police said.

The Sunshine State shopper went berserk and pulled the deadly revolver Friday because an assistant store manager refused to honor her $1-off Internet coupon, the Wakulla County Sheriff’s Office said.

Mary Frances Alday, 61, of Crawfordville was arrested and charged with four counts of aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and one count of battery following the afternoon meltdown at the discount giant.

She reportedly became verbally abusive toward the 48-year-old assistant manager when the female employee explained that physical Walmart stores do not honor the type of Web-only coupon that Alday was trying to use.

Alday freaked out, called the manager a “b—-” and “intentionally” rammed her with a shopping cart, a police report obtained by TheSmokingGun.com alleged.

After the initial confrontation, the manager told Alday that she was escorting her outside to get her license plate number.
“If you follow me, I have something for you in my car,” Alday reportedly responded, according to the report.

The manager was joined at the door by three colleagues, and the group watched as Alday walked to her vehicle, pulled out a handgun in a holster and started waving the weapon in the air, according to the report.

Alday pointed the gun directly at the workers and stated, “I have something for y’all,” as the group retreated inside, fearing for their lives, police said.

The suspect subsequently backed her Ford Escape SUV out of the parking lot in reverse to prevent a good view of her plate, cops said.
She was identified during a traffic stop a short time later and allegedly refused to follow commands, saying she had a concealed weapons permit and didn’t have to surrender her gun.

“You’re not taking my gun,” she stubbornly said, according to the report.
The arresting officer reportedly managed to unlock her door and use a stun gun on Alday twice as she reached over her console for something and fought back physically.

She was pulled from the vehicle and cuffed as officers retrieved her Smith & Wesson .38 revolver from the car’s center console, the report stated.
Alday was also charged with battery on a law enforcement officer and resisting arrest with violence.
