Remember when Hip Hop artist Ryan Leslie put out that notice to the world about his precious laptop, offering $1 million to anyone who turned it in?
It’s time for the artist to settle the score and make it happen.
An auto repair shop owner by the name of Armin Augstein found the computer one day while walking his dog. He turned the laptop over to the German police in November 2010.
In a YouTube video, Leslie promised a large reward to anyone who found it. But Ryan didn’t deliver.
So Augstein took a trip to American court to file suit against the artist.
Ryan Leslie now legally owes the repair guy a nice BIG check.
“I’m very happy . . . that the American judicial system, which is so totally different from ours, functioned so well with a jury that are not professionals and are laymen,” Augstein said in German through one his lawyers, Steven Thal.
“No one forced him to make an offer of so much money for a finder’s fee,” Augstein said. “It seems like he believes that that which he promised, he doesn’t have to live up to.”
Ryan didn’t care too much for the verdict and plans to appeal because he doesn’t believe the laptop finder deserves the reward. He suggested in court that he may have been involved with the theft.
Or could it be he just doesn’t have the money?
