Another Republican politician has let loose with a controversial stand on pregnancies from rape, saying they are "something that God intended to happen" even if they're the result of a "horrible situation."
Richard Mourdock, a Tea Party-supported candidate, made the comment in a debate Tuesday night with the Democratic and Libertarian candidates for a U.S. Senate seat in Indiana.
In a press conference following the debate, Mourdock attempted to clarify his remark, saying that he meant to say "God creates life" and that anyone who thinks that he meant God "pre-ordained rape" were "sick" and "twisted."
