Rick Ross and Young Jeezy Reportedly Fight Backstage at BET Hip-Hop Awards

Things reportedly got a little tense backstage at the taping of the BET Hip-Hop Awards in Atlanta on Saturday night. TMZ.com reports Rick Ross and Young Jeezy had a heated exchange that spilled into the parking lot.

According to the website, the two rappers pushed and shoved each other at the Atlanta Civic Center before they were separated by their bodyguards and BET security personnel.

Later, TMZ sources claim, a member of Ross' entourage fired shots in the parking lot. The website has published video of the backstage skirmish.

A spokesperson for the Atlanta Police Department tells TMZ that officers helped break up a fight between two groups in the parking lot by using pepper spray, and that reports of gunshots "appear to be untrue." The spokesperson adds that no arrests were made, and there were no reports of serious injuries.

BET issued a statement, saying, "Due to some misjudgment of select attendees, it is unfortunate that certain incidents took place. BET Networks does not condone any type of violence. Local authorities are working to resolve the situation as quickly as possible."

TMZ is also reporting that 50 Cent "got into it" at the event with a Ross protégé, Gunplay.

The Hip-Hop Awards will air on BET on October 9. The cable network has not posted the winners on its website. Kanye West had the most nominations, with 17.
