Lottery Winner Who Kept Getting Food Stamps Is Dead

A Michigan woman who won a million bucks in the state lottery but continued receiving food stamps is dead.

Amanda Clayton's body was found by police at her Ecorse home Saturday, the victim of an apparent drug overdose.

Clayton created a stir earlier this year when it was reported that Michigan kept giving her $200 a month in food aid even after winning $1 million in the lotto game show last September.

The 24-year-old was charged with failing to report her winnings and the fact she also had a job while still getting almost $5,500 in food stamps and medical assistance.

Clayton was eventually sentenced to probation last summer after pleading no contest to welfare fraud.
