2 Brookyln Cops Killed

On Saturday, December 20, 2 uniformed NYPD officers were shot dead while they sat in their marked car. Allegedly the gunman posted on Instagram saying that “I’m Putting Wings on Pigs Today,” a person believed to be the gunman wrote. “They Take 1 Of Ours . . . Let’s Take 2 of Theirs,” the post continued, ending with, “This May Be My Final Post.”

Shortly after the killings, the gunman then turned the gun on himself in the subway.

Officer Liu, 32, was a newlywed of only two months and had seven years on the force. Officer Ramos, 40, was dad to two sons, had two years on the job.

Reportedly the alleged gunman, Ismaaiyl Brinsley, was suspected of putting a bullet in his ex-girlfriend’s abdomen earlier that same morning.

I understand that people are angry, outraged and hurt by the recent acts of “injustice” in the justice system. But taking the road of “an eye for an eye” leaves everyone blind. Those cops didn’t deserve to be killed.

How can you make a difference in what is happening in our communities and country? Some people have taken to the streets to protest and that brings attention to the unrest. But people who are not happy with the latest events need to vote. Vote in the people YOU believe will have the best interest of the city, county, state, and/or country in mind. Or heck, if you are qualified, you can even run for an office.

Violence is not the solution to violence.

All cops aren’t bad and all blacks aren’t guilty until proven innocent.
