GSW residency requirement is all full-time, first-year and second-year students are required to live on campus and to purchase a meal plan unless they meet one of the following criteria: Student will be 21 years of age prior to August 31. Student is married. Student has a child who lives with them. Application must be filed 14 business days prior to the beginning of the term in which off-campus housing is desired. Note: Any student without official approval to live off campus will be required to pay full room and board charges for the trimester in which the violation occurs. Dining All students living on campus are required to have a meal Students who live off-campus estimated they spent 9 hours each week shopping, cooking, etc. You'll save time and energy. No need to commute (students make 2 trips to and from campus each day with each trip taking 21 minutes; total time saved over the course of a week: 5 hours). Sleep longer. Viking Hall is the newest of the residence halls at Salem State. Viking houses 350 residents in double and single rooms set up in suites. Each suite consists of student bedrooms, an entryway space, and a bathroom. There are four floors, each with common lounge areas for students to study and meet. Viking Hall also houses a Starbucks and meeting opportunities to get involved in campus life. The information in this guide will assist you in making your residential experience a positive one.
