My mother has breast cancer and her sister is now cancer free, so I know first hand about this. Some days I wish I could take her pain away. She's always not feeling good and it's something everyday that makes her so sick. I think God everyday for my father he's the best, his whole life has change for his wife.

Tina,
I am sorry to hear that your mother has this dreadful disease and truly sorry for her pain. I lost an aunt to this disease and a very close friend has been recently diagnosed but God has already healed her!! I say that to say the power of prayer is powerful and to trust God for strength and healing…

My grandmother is a survivor as well as a high school classmate of mine. My friend is now 31 years old with three girls of her own. She will be speaking in Chattanooga, TN on Oct. 16th at U.T.C. about her life and how she has dealt with Breast Cancer and overcoming it.

Hello everyone! My mom was just recently diagnosed with stage 4 lung cancer and I still plan on walking in this event. To me cancer of any type is a awareness to me and I can honestly say this was a blow to me. There is soooo much you go through like the acceptance and denial. Without my friends I do not think I could have been as strong for my mom. See you there...

My mother is a 12 year survivor and I am an only child with three girls and I can't help but wonder if the disease will affect them if it skips me. We just have to take care of ourselves as black women, black people. Does anyone know of a fitness group for us or ran by us? One black women can move a mountain, imagine what alot of us can do together.

As a young 35 year old man father of three, "Two girls and a boy", have been affected by breast cancer. I have lost two women whom played a major part in my life. And I thank GOD for them everday. Mary Ruth Anderson (Grandmother), and Wonda "Nay" Renate Anderson Lay (Aunti). Both of these strong black women taught me how to be a man. GOD bless us all.

I lost my maternal grandmother to breast cancer. Didn't get to spend time with her at all. My mom said we visited a couple of times before she passed when I was a toddler. So When is the next walk?
