Tennessee State University is proud to present internationally acclaimed pianist Jeni Slotchiver in a free concert inaugurating their Summer Keyboard Institute. One of the world’s leading authorities on the work of composer Ferruccio Busoni, Ms. Slotchiver is also a champion of twentieth century American and Latin American music. Her upcoming performance of compositions by: J.S. Bach, Astor Piazzolla, Heitor Villa-Lobos, and Frederic Rzewski transcends and combines traditional classical music, Latin American popular rhythms, Tango, and avant-garde Jazz inspirations. Ms. Slotchiver will also be teaching two master classes the next day.
