Black in Nashville: Racial Profiling

The Nashville Branch of the NAACP, along with Fisk University students, is sponsoring "Black in Nashville: Racial Profiling," from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at Fisk University's Park Johnson Hall, 1000 17th Ave. N.


The free event is the first of several informational Black in Nashville forums to be sponsored by the NAACP. The discussion will explore racial profiling in depth and identify how it affects the community and what solutions are available, organizers said.

Metro Police Deputy Chief Steve Anderson and Director of Officer Accountability Kennetha Sawyers, Councilman Jerry Maynard and the American Civil Liberties Union's executive director for Tennessee, Hedy Weinberg, will participate.
