The Heritage at Brentwood, a Life Care Services™ community, invites the public to visit the newest addition to its property – two beehives – and learn more about the art of beekeeping from local expert, Joel White, President of the Nashville Beekeepers Association.
White will share his beekeeping experience and talk about how his Brentwood-based business, Joel White Apiaries, harvests and sells local honey produced from 32 hives – located at Beech Creek Farm, Autumn Crest Farm and Mint Springs Farm.
White also instructs beekeeping classes, and he is a member of the Nashville Area Beekeepers Association and Tennessee Beekeepers Association.
The two hives located on campus at The Heritage at Brentwood currently house approximately 3,000-4,000 bees. By the spring of 2016, the community expects to extract the first batch of honey, and it anticipates each hive will house more 150,000 bees.
RSVP is required. To reserve your space, call 615-507-2686.
