LIVE MUSIC AND POETRY SET THE SCENE FOR ‘AN EVENING OF SOUL’
IN NASHVILLE’S THE GULCH

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (June 2014) – Nashville’s newest restaurant, lounge, and entertainment venue, The Cave, located in the lavish urban community of The Gulch,  will host “An Evening of Soul”  featuring spoken word lyricist, Kyna Kyles, and R&B/Soul artist, J. Whaley, on Saturday, June 21 at 8 p.m.

Kyles, greatly known for her distinctive performances pairing lyricism and live music, will serve as a prelude to the new school with a twist of old school, soulful sounds of musician J. Whaley.

“I have been a fan of J. Whaley for a while,” Kyles expressed, “so I am humbled to have this opportunity to do the ‘Evening of Soul’ with him.”

Kyles is no stranger to the stage, having performed at several events in the greater Nashville area. She has also released several spoken word albums, including her latest album—released February 2014-- entitled Evolution, where she depicted her tales of love and life through living.

J. Whaley has worked with three time Grammy Award winner Shannon Sanders to produce his first single “Settle Down” and has recently released his newest single, “Grown Man Thoughts”. Whaley has been nominated for Nashville Independent Music Award Best Male R&B Artist of the Year 2011/2012, Best Male R&B Performer 2012 and Hip Hop in the Ville’s Best Male R&B Artist of the Year 2011.

As Music City continues to grow, it has developed various avenues for music lovers to enjoy different genres of music. This event further expands the scope of entertainment and allows the local R&B/Soul scene in Nashville to thrive.
